India’s costliest film has finally hit the screens after years of struggle and hard work. 2.0, the dream of director Shankar is finally in theatres today. The film has been released in about 10,500 screens across the world, a record number for a Tamil film.
Going by the tweets and the feedback on social media, it looks like Shankar has a winner in his hands.
Though 2.0 evoked great expectations among fans, it also created a certain degree of skepticism. However, Shankar seems to have proven his critics wrong with the sci-fi venture.
Akshaya Nath of India Today Television says, “2.0 captures hearts of fans, and has got a massive opening with the film doing justice to the delay. Fans had started assembling outside theatres early on November 29 morning, with music dance and crackers stealing the show before the start of the film.”
“The film takes off within the first five minutes and Rajinikanth’s introduction too is done in that time. The character Vasigeran, the scientist who makes Chitti played by Superstar, is one of the first characters to be introduced in 2.0,” says Akshaya.
People are raving about the grand visuals of 2.0 in their own reviews, and a lot of fans are heaping praise on the last 30 minutes of 2.0.
Starring Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles, 2.0 has music by AR Rahman.
