Nintendo Switch games news: ANOTHER title joins the games list

NINTENDO Switch games list is growing by the day, as another new title joins the lineup.

Cave Story is coming to Nintendo Switch in June
The Nintendo Switch games list just got another new addition, as Cave Story gets a release date.

While Nicalis founder Tyrone Rodriguez teased a Nintendo Switch port earlier this year, nothing had been confirmed until now.

Nicalis has since announced that Cave Story+ is coming to Nintendo Switch, complete with a June 20 release date in the US and lots of bonus features.

A European release date is yet to be announced, but a UK launch is expected after the US.

And just like previous Nicalis release Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+, Cave Story+ will be released in boxed form at retail, as well as digitally via the eShop.

If it’s anything like the Steam version, Cave Story+ contains old-school and HD visuals.

There’s also six different game modes, including Wind Fortress and Boss Rush, which features 20 different battles.

That’s on top of 15 levels to explore, as well as ten weapons that can be unlocked and upgraded throughout the adventure.

The US version is priced at $30, so UK fans can expect to pay upwards of £25.

While it’s great to see more indie games coming to the console, Nintendo Switch owners will be more excited by news that Hearthstone could also be released on the device.

“Hearthstone is available on iPads and phones, so it’s a good discussion worth having.”

While it doesn’t sound like the Nintendo Switch is a major priority for Blizzard, it still has a big advantage over both the PS4 and Xbox One when it comes to a potential release.

Hearthstone has been designed for touchscreen smartphones and tablets, so a Nintendo Switch port seems like a better In terms of first-party releases, Nintendo Switch fans can expect a steady flow of unconventional new releases, as Nintendo pledges to create lots of new franchises.

Nintendo Switch first-party games include Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey.

However, Nintendo wants to go beyond established franchises, and create brand new experiences that take advantage of the innovative Joy-con controllers and versatile hardware set-up.

That’s according to Nintendo’s Shinya Takahashi, who told an interviewer that the company is preparing one new IP after another for Nintendo Switch.

Takahashi said that fans could expect games that are revolutionary and unconventional.

He also praised indie releases like Snipperclips, stressing how important they are for Nintendo Switch.
